Handyman for elderly residents in Cirencester

I visit older residents across Cirencester for the kind of work that used to take five minutes and now takes all morning. A smoke alarm battery. A stuck window. A bag of stuff for the tip. I do the jobs, run the errands, and I do not rush out the door.

One visit, several jobs

Most people save things up. A light bulb in the hall that needs the tall ladder. A shelf bracket that pulled out of the wall six months ago. A wobbly banister. Then there is the bag of cardboard in the garage and a prescription to collect from Boots on the way back.

None of it is worth calling a tradesman for on its own. Grouped together it fills an hour, and everything gets done in one go.

What I actually get asked to do

Smoke alarm batteries. Draught-proofing strips on the back door. Pictures that have been leaning against the wall since last Christmas. Tap washers. Curtain poles. Moving a chest of drawers to a better spot. Building the garden bench that arrived three weeks ago. Taking the old microwave to the recycling centre.

There is no fixed menu. If it is practical and does not need a qualified tradesperson, it is probably on my list.

Errands on the same clock

If there is time left on the hour I will run to the chemist, the post office or the shop. Same hourly rate. No separate errand fee. I have dropped off dry cleaning, returned library books, picked up prescriptions, posted parcels. Whatever needs doing.

How the visit works

I turn up at the agreed time, usually within ten minutes. I bring the list in, work through it, and let you know if something is going to take longer than expected. Tea is always welcome. I tidy up and take rubbish away at the end.

Pricing

First hour is £55. Each hour after that is £35. Half day £125, full day £230.

For regular visits there are monthly packages: Starter £75 for two hours, Regular £110 for four, Premium £225 for eight.
