Grocery shopping in Cirencester
A Tesco top-up, a full weekly shop, or a specific run to the deli. Shopping list carried in, perishables put away.
A full weekly shop eats a couple of hours. Parking, queuing, carrying, unloading. Sometimes the supermarket delivery slots do not line up, or you want specific items that need hand-picking. Martin does grocery shopping on your behalf across Cirencester and the surrounding villages.
What is included
Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons and M&S in Cirencester, plus the Co-op stores in the villages. A quick top-up (bread, milk, paper). A full weekly shop from a written list. A specific run to the deli or butcher for one or two items. Or a mix. Martin picks the items, queues, pays with cash or a pre-loaded gift card or a delivery arrangement you prefer, brings the bags to the kitchen, and will put perishables in the fridge if you would like.
Lists work best in writing, with brand names and sizes where they matter. If something is out of stock, Martin will text a photo of the likely substitute before buying it. No substitutions happen without your say-so.
What is NOT included
Martin does not hold a bank card on your behalf. Payment is either cash, a pre-loaded supermarket gift card that you top up online, a specific agreed arrangement with your card kept locally, or a reimbursement on the spot. He will not use contactless on your card out of sight.
He does not do catering shops for events, or shops on behalf of businesses. A commercial fruit and veg order is a wholesaler's job.
How long it takes
A top-up of under ten items in Cirencester is usually 30 to 45 minutes. A full weekly shop at Tesco or Waitrose is typically an hour and a half to two hours including unpacking at your end. Deli runs are usually 30 minutes.
Pricing
First hour £55, each hour after £35. Most grocery visits fall within the first hour or two. A standing weekly booking can be agreed at a sensible flat rate if it suits you.
Common questions
What about fresh meat and dairy? Martin keeps a cool bag in the van for perishables, and unpacks into the fridge as soon as he arrives.
Can you pick specific loose vegetables? Yes. If you want the firmer avocados or the less-ripe bananas, say so and Martin will choose accordingly.
What if you cannot find something on the list? He will text you from the shop with a photo of the closest alternative, and only buy it if you say yes.
