Handyman in Tetbury

Tetbury is about ten miles from Cirencester, down towards Bath. It is one of those Cotswold towns where the buildings are beautiful but the maintenance is constant. Cotswold stone, old timber, original ironmongery, sometimes a listed building where you need to think twice about what you drill into.

I visit Tetbury fairly regularly. The jobs tend to lean towards safety work and draught-proofing in the older properties around the centre, and flat-pack or general odd jobs in the newer estates on the edges of town. There is a good mix of older residents and young families, and both have the same need for someone who will turn up, sort a list, and not charge the earth.

Travel and pricing

Tetbury is outside the five-mile free zone, so 45p per mile (return trip) applies. First hour £55, then £35 an hour. Again, a half-day booking at £125 usually makes more sense for the trip and gives us time to get through a proper list.
