Handyman in Bibury
About seven miles north-east. Famous for Arlington Row, but it is also a village where people actually live.
Bibury gets a lot of visitors because of Arlington Row and the Swan Hotel, but behind the tourist traffic it is a working village with residents who need the same help as anywhere else. I visit Bibury when booked, usually combining with another stop nearby.
The properties in Bibury tend to be old. That means solid walls, good fixings, but sometimes slightly trickier access and older plumbing. A few of my visits there have been for holiday let owners who need flat-pack built between guests, or a quick tidy-up of a property that has been sitting empty over winter.
Travel and pricing
Bibury is about seven miles from Cirencester, so a small mileage charge at 45p per mile applies. First hour £55, then £35 an hour.
